Oh Artemis, how could you have known? You are the goddess of wilderness, of wild animals and vegetation. And yet, how could you have known about endosymbiosis—organisms happily living inside other organisms that both may benefit. Green photosynthetic algae cells, say, living in the cytoplasm of the Loxodes unicellular ciliate.
Oh Artemis, you are the much-loved goddess of the Moon. And yet, how could you have known that in a thousand years or two, we would visit you? And we would be propelled forth by a liquid oxygen made long long ago by those same algae cells.
Oh Artemis, you could not have known, for Science had not yet shown. But Artemis is coming, Artemis. And when Artemis lands, we'll tell you all about cyanobacteria, about green algae about Loxodes ciliates. And we'll show you your Moon and Jupiter, and everything in-between. And about the myriad wonders of the world which Science has now shown.
Oh Artemis, Artemis is coming.
